Day 1: Pindari Glacier Trek- Kathgodam to Loharkhet

Route:- Almora – Bageshwar – Kapkot – Loharkhet

Day 2: Loharkhet to Kharkia (drive) and trek to Khati

Altitude: 5,500 ft to 7,300 ft

Distance: 4 km

From Loharkhet to Kharkia, 3 hours drive to kharkia takes you through the beautiful village. Trek starts from Kharkia to Khati, a well-defined trail passes through the forest of Oak- Rhododendron trees and the exotic view of the flora and fauna which makes your trek memorable.

Day 3: Khati to Dwali Pindari Glacier Trek

Altitude: 7,300 ft to 8,600 ft

Distance: 13 km

Day 4: Dwali to Phurkia

Altitude: 8,600 ft to 10,500 ft

Distance: 5 km

Today, the trail passes through the frozen river and the view of the snow-filled mountains is treated to your shutter. Trek from Dwali to Phurkia, enjoy the picturesque landscape on the way to Phurkia campsite. Pindari Glacier Trek is best for adventure lover.  The trail offers you a clear view of the Mt. Day 5: Phurkia to Zero point Pindari Glacier and return to Phurkia

Altitude: 10,500 ft to 12,300 ft

Distance: 16 km

Time Taken: 7 hours

The trek to Pindari Glacier from Phurkia, offers the view of the picturesque mountains and snowy valleys around. Trekking to Pindari Glacier is highly recommended in order to explore the beauty of the valley. After 3-4 hours, you reach the Pindari Glacier. Trekking through the beautiful trail is the most common path to get to the top of the Pindari Glacier with the fresh aura around.

The ascent to the glacier begins after crossing the river and trekkers get the majestic view of the snowy peaks like Mt. Bauljuri. From the top of the Pindari Glacier valley, you can get the magnificent view of the snowy peaks all around. Return back to Phurkia from the same route. Overnight stay in

Day 6: Phurkia to Khati via Dwali

Altitude: 10,500 ft to 7,300 ft

Distance: 16 km

Time Taken: 7 hours

Trek back to Khati campsite via Dwali, takes about 6-7 hours. A steep descent to Dwali from Phurkia takes 2 hours to reach. Walk through the rivers, artistic landscapes, waterfall, forests and cover the distance till Khati. Overnight in the tents.

Day 7: Pindari Glacier Trek – Khati to kharkia to Kathgodam

Altitude: 7,300 ft to 7,400 ft

Distance: 4 km

Time Taken: 1-hour trek (180 km drive)

Trek starts from Khati to Kharkia, takes 4 km trekking distance that will get you to Kharkia. After that drive back to Kathgodam.

We are giving some suggestions to make sure you are safe and enjoy your trekking adventure, Because of the changing environment, altitude, and terrains you’ll be facing Climbing & trekking is no small undertaking, so it is necessary that you give some time to prepare before you going to trekking & expedition in Himalayan Mountain.

WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO DO BEFORE GOING TO TREK?

Prepare your body-

  1. Running, Walk, Running

Running & Walking is the easiest and best for good health and trekking. Since the daunting of trekking & climbing requires long hours of public walk, ride, or drive, you must practice running or walking ablest one hour daily. Long walks during trekking make you tired those times and walk increase your fitness levels.

The benefits of running-

  • Loosing of extra pounds weight
  • Lower risk of heart problem
  • Improve and balance blood circulation
  • Increase stamina
  1. Walking with solder-load or weighted bag

Since trekking requires long time walks with a bag 5 kilos on your solder, a sudden weight on your shoulders. Put 5-6 kilos bag and try to walk 2-3 minutes and repeat this 10 times in 24 hours. If you have weight vest the try to run if you have not weighted vest the fill your bag with some books and wasted newspaper to weight.

  1. Climb stairs Up & Down

A mandatory aspect of trekking is ascending and descending trek. Ascend and descend walking is the most difficult tasks one faces during such trekking. For fitness practice, you regularly climb stairs. Regular climbing stair provides stronger muscles and better mental reflexes. Every day 5-10 minutes of stair climbing or 45 min walk or 20 min running reduces the risk of heart problem and increasing your stamina.

  1. Leg Exercises

Sports like football and hockey which involve running can be the best exercise. Cycling is also best exercise to boost up your muscles. You also follow leg exercises.

Repeat those exercises 2-3 time in a day to prepared for trekking in Himalayas.

Mentally and physiological fitness is more important for fitness. If you find some time for yourself then meditate. Meditation is best exercise for the Mental and physiological fitness.

One of the most impotent things for trekking and maintaining is support and encouragement of your family and friends.
