Satopanth Tal Trek also known as Satopanth Tal Swargarohini Trek. The term ‘Satopanth’ is derived from two words ‘sato’ denotes truth and ‘path’ refers to way. This means the “Path of Truth”. Satopanth tal trek is a beautiful trail to a triangle-shaped Satopanth lake in Uttarakhand. The trail offers beauty that cannot be express in words. As the name suggests trail of truth is where one can enjoy the true marvels of nature.

This is a great opportunity for trekkers to take a bath n the holy lake with the Trideves. Satopanth Tal Trek temperature in summer around 15°C to 20°C in the day and -2°C to 2°C in night. While the winter temperature may drop 8°C to 10°C in the day and -15°C to -25°C in the night. The best time for Satopanth Tal trek is May to June and September to October.

You can enjoy the spectacular view of the snow-capped mountains like Mt. Chaukhamba, Mt. Neelkanth and Mt. Swargarohini. According to the mythological stories, it is believed that this was the route taken by the Pandav brothers to reach heaven but only Yudhistir reaches up to Swargarohini.

 

Day 1:  Satopanth Tal Trek – Haridwar to Badrinath.

Distance: 315 km

Time Taken: 10 hours

Satopanth Tal Trek starts from Haridwar Railway station. The total traveling distance from Haridwar to Badrinath is 323 km by Road. There are no direct flights or trains. The fastest and cheapest way to reach from Haridwar to Badrinath is to take a bus or taxi. The entire trekking trail is filled with beautiful nature’s beauty all around.

Trekkers may see the astounding confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda in Devprayag. Trekking in Uttarakhand Himalayas, your lenses will be hectic to capture these or many more attractions on the way. Situated in the holy town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, Badrinath is a Hindu Temple at an altitude of 10,170 feet.

 

Day 2 – Badrinath to Laxmivan via chamtoli.

Satopanth Tal Trek starts from Badrinath to Laxmivan. The total trekking distance from Badrinath to Laxmivan is 9 km. The mana village is at a distance of about 3 km from the Badrinath is on the banks of the Saraswati River. From the days of yore, most of the residents grow potatoes and kidney beans. These people are very hardworking. Apart from this Mana village is famous for weaving woolen garments like mufflers, carpet, caps and sweaters where women knit and weave sweaters and run a small-scale industry of woolen clothes. These woolen garments made of sheep wool.

Trekkers may spot the interesting Cave such as Vyas Gufa in which Maharshi Vyas composed the Mahabharata epic with the help of Lord Ganesha. He also composed 18 purans, Brahma sutras and 4 Vedas. Ganesh Gufa which is located nearby area below Vyas Gufa.

After a few minutes walk, the next place offers you a spectacular view of the mountains where the water falls from the height of around 450 feet. This place also called Vasudhara fall. Trekking distance from Badrinath to Laxmivan is 9 km. It believed that the waterfall turns away from the people who are not pure at heart.

The astounding view of the nearby mountains like Chaukhamba, Neelkanth and Balakun will fall in love with the trail to Satopant tal. The first campsite of the Satopanth Tal trek is Laxmivan. Walking along the dense forest, feel the peaceful aura of this beautiful place and spot the Bhojpatra trees and different variety of flowers at Laxmivan.

 

Day 3 – Laxmivan to chakrateerath via Sahastradhara

Distance: 11 km

Time Taken: 7 hours

Trek starts from the beautiful Campsite Laxmivan to Chakrateerth. After crossing a couple of waterfall at sahastra Dhara, trekkers can see the Neelkantha base camp on the way. Not only trekkers can see the Satopanth Tal but also the other giant mountains like Neelkanth, Parvati and many others. Day 4 – Chakrateerath to Satopanth Lake

The total trekking distance from chakrateerath to satopanth tal is 5 km. It located at an elevation of 4,402 meters.  Surrounded by the lotus flower Satopanth Lake has a natural beauty all around. The mesmerizing view of Balakun, Swargarohini, Chaukhamba just wow moment and your shutter will be hectic on this place. In the night, the view of stars is amazing at Satopanth tal.

 

Day 5 – Satopanth tal to Chakrateerath

From Satopanth lake to campsite Chakrateerath is where your heart won’t allow you to leave the place. Today is continuing descends and trekkers may enjoy the scenic perfection spread all around on the way back to Chakrateerath campsite of Satopanth Tal trek.

 

Day 6 – Chakrateerath to Badrinath

Distance: 11 km

Time Taken: 5 hours

Trek starts from chakrateerath to Badrinath, last day of the Satopanth Tal trek return to Badrinath with religious importance and temple, beautiful scenery and hot water spring. The Himalayan trekking comes to an end at hot water spring, trekkers can take a dip in the hot water and enjoy it.

 

Day 7: Satopanth Tal Trek – Badrinath to Haridwar

Distance: 315 km

Time Taken: 10 hours

Drive back to Dehradun. Following your arrival in Haridwar at about 8 pm, the Himalayan adventure of the Satopanth Tal trekking comes to an end.

Here you can learn some basic life and survival skills, planning and organizing in this phase. We are giving some suggestions to make sure you are safe and enjoy your trekking adventure, Because of the changing environment, altitude, and terrains you’ll be facing Climbing & trekking is no small undertaking, so it is necessary that you give some time to prepare before you going to trekking & expedition in Himalayan Mountain.

WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO DO BEFORE GOING TO TREK?

Prepare your body-

  1. Running, Walk, Running

Running & Walking is the easiest and best for good health and trekking. Since the daunting of trekking & climbing requires long hours of public walk, ride, or drive, you must practice running or walking ablest one hour daily. Long walks during trekking make you tired those times and walk increase your fitness levels.

The benefits of running-

  • Loosing of extra pounds weight
  • Lower risk of heart problem
  • Improve and balance blood circulation
  • Increase stamina
  1. Walking with solder-load or weighted bag

Since trekking requires long time walks with a bag 5 kilos on your solder, a sudden weight on your shoulders. Put 5-6 kilos bag and try to walk 2-3 minutes and repeat this 10 times in 24 hours. If you have weight vest the try to run if you have not weighted vest the fill your bag with some books and wasted newspaper to weight.

  1. Climb stairs Up & Down

A mandatory aspect of trekking is ascending and descending trek. Ascend and descend walking is the most difficult tasks one faces during such trekking. For fitness practice, you regularly climb stairs. Regular climbing stair provides stronger muscles and better mental reflexes. Every day 5-10 minutes of stair climbing or 45 min walk or 20 min running reduces the risk of heart problem and increasing your stamina.

  1. Leg Exercises

Sports like football and hockey which involve running can be the best exercise. Cycling is also best exercise to boost up your muscles. You also follow leg exercises.

Repeat those exercises 2-3 time in a day to prepared for trekking in Himalayas.

  1. Mental and physiological fitness

Mentally and physiological fitness is more important for fitness. If you find some time for yourself then meditate. Meditation is best exercise for the Mental and physiological fitness.

One of the most impotent things for trekking and maintaining is support and encouragement of your family and friends.
