As you climb along the trail, the fantastic view of the Panchachuli peaks covered from the forest of Bhoj, conifer, and devdar trees. Panchachuli Base Camp is tucked at 13,975 feet in the Eastern Kumaon Himalaya. Trekking in Uttarakhand Himalayas is the best option for photographers, capture the flora and funa with the background snowy view of the peaks.
Day 1: Kathgodam – Dharchula Panchachuli base camp trek
It’s a whole day’s drive to Dharchula from Kathgodham. The picturesque ride through the Pitholagarh district of Uttarakhand passes through the towns of Bhimtal, Almora, Dhaulchina, Sera- gat, Chaukhori, Thal, Ashkot. The lofty Himalayan ranges and the gorges below, native villages and the sheer beauty of the forests are you company all through the drive to Dharchula.
Panchachuli base camp trek provides unique experiences to its trekkers in the form of beautiful camping. Trekking in Uttarakhand Himalayan mountains is a best place for adventure lover.
Day 2 : Dharchula / Dhar / Urthing (Drive 2hrs.,+ Trek 04 hrs)
Dar, the last road head in Darma Valley for this trek. From Dharchula it is a 3 hour drive to Dar along a windy road through the small tribal settlements Tawaghat and New Sobla. From Dar it is a 3-4 hour walk to reach the campsite of Urthing throught Bongling forest. The panchachuli base camp trek to Urthing is along a narrow cliff edge with the Dhauliganga river gushing below on your right. The path winds itself on a rock cut stretch to reach the village of Bongling. It’s a level walk with short climbs in between to the reach the campsite. Overnight stay in camp.
Day 3 : Urthing – Nagling (Trek 08 km, 04 hrs)
It’s an easy walk with short descents and climbs. The mule track from Urthing to Naagling goes through hill sides of green pastoral land, with Dhauli Ganga flowing below cutting through the gorges.
The panchachuli base camp trekking trail passes through the green meadows of the inner Himalayan ranges and a suspension bridge across the river to cross over to Sela campsite. The campsite is on the outskirts of Naagling on the green carpet alongside the river. Overnight stay in Camp.
Day 4 : Nagling – Son (11km, 5 hrs)
Day 5 : Son – Panchachuli Base Camp (05 km)
Day 6 : Panchachuli base camp – Nagling (16 km.)
In the morning we will trek down to Bungling. The panchachuli base camp trek is easy to downwards. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day 7 : Panchachuli base camp trek – Nagling – Urthing
In the morning we will trek down to Bungling. The trek is easy to downwards. Dinner and overnight stay in tents. Back to the Naagling all the way to same back from Panchachuli base camp.
Day 8 : Panchachuli base camp trek – Urthing – Dharchula
This is our last day of trekking. We will trek down 5 kms to reach Sobla and from here drive to Dharchula. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 9 : Panchachuli base camp trek – Dharchula to kathgodam

A trekking requires a lot of preparations to make sure that are physically and mentally ready for adventure. Here you can learn some basic life and survival skills, planning and organizing in this phase. We are giving some suggestions to make sure you are safe and enjoy your trekking adventure, Because of the changing environment, altitude, and terrains you’ll be facing Climbing & trekking is no small undertaking, so it is necessary that you give some time to prepare before you going to trekking & expedition in Himalayan Mountain.
WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO DO BEFORE GOING TO TREK?
Prepare your body-
- Running, Walk, Running
Running & Walking is the easiest and best for good health and trekking. Since the daunting of trekking & climbing requires long hours of public walk, ride, or drive, you must practice running or walking ablest one hour daily. Long walks during trekking make you tired those times and walk increase your fitness levels.
The benefits of running-
- Loosing of extra pounds weight
- Lower risk of heart problem
- Improve and balance blood circulation
- Increase stamina
- Walking with solder-load or weighted bag
Since trekking requires long time walks with a bag 5 kilos on your solder, a sudden weight on your shoulders. Put 5-6 kilos bag and try to walk 2-3 minutes and repeat this 10 times in 24 hours. If you have weight vest the try to run if you have not weighted vest the fill your bag with some books and wasted newspaper to weight.
- Climb stairs Up & Down
A mandatory aspect of trekking is ascending and descending trek. Ascend and descend walking is the most difficult tasks one faces during such trekking. For fitness practice, you regularly climb stairs. Regular climbing stair provides stronger muscles and better mental reflexes. Every day 5-10 minutes of stair climbing or 45 min walk or 20 min running reduces the risk of heart problem and increasing your stamina.
- Leg Exercises
Sports like football and hockey which involve running can be the best exercise. Cycling is also best exercise to boost up your muscles. You also follow leg exercises.

Repeat those exercises 2-3 time in a day to prepared for trekking in Himalayas.
- Mental and physiological fitness
Mentally and physiological fitness is more important for fitness. If you find some time for yourself then meditate. Meditation is best exercise for the Mental and physiological fitness.
One of the most impotent things for trekking and maintaining is support and encouragement of your family and friends.
