Day 01: Kedartal Trek- Haridwar to Gangotri.
Distance- 258 km
Time taken- 10 hrs
Drive from Haridwar railway station to Gangotri is scenic and beautiful. The route along the Bhagirathi waterway, the course zigzags over the Sukkhi top displays an amazing perspective of the wide stream valley. After reaching Gangotri, visit the Gangotri temple, Gauri Kund and Surya Kund. You can also enjoy the beautiful places near Gangotri, local cuisine and the arti.
Day 02: Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak.
Distance- 8 km
Time taken- 6 hrs
Gangotri is situated in the northern part of Uttarkashi District at an altitude of 3048 meters. It is a pilgrim place and one may see many temples, local markets, caves, pine forests along with morning and evening prayers of the River. The kedartal trek starts from Gangotri and Bhoj Kharak is the first campsite. The total trekking distance from Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak is 8 km.
The kedartal trekking trail takes you through the dense forest of pine and bhojpatra trees as if you have travelled back in time. After 2 to 3 hours of trek, the walk towards Bhoj Kharak campsite is a little strenuous due to the slant rocks. Trekkers see the spectacular view of the Thalay Sagar mountain from the campsite. Day 03: Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak.
Distance- 4 km
Time taken- 6 hrs
Trek from Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak is along the river Kedar Ganga. Kedar Kharak is a beautiful campsite in the Gangotri national park region with the view of many mighty mountains. The total trekking distance for the day is 4 km.
Start the trek along the beautiful Kedar Ganga river and then by crossing Bhoj forest and flower-strewn meadows. After crossing the bhoj forest, trek ascends gradually and is a cross steep climbs till the Kedar Kharak campsite. The overwhelming beauty of the campsite is astonishing as the sky-touching mountains like Bhrigupanth, Thalayi Sagar and the colourful valleys are the visuals you will never want to forget. Overnight stay in Kedar Kharak campsite.
Day 04: Trek to Kedartal Back Kedar kharak.
Distance- 5 km
Time taken- 7 hrs
Enjoy a healthy breakfast with the wonderful views of stunning snow-clad peaks and prepare yourself for the final destination. Located around 5 km from the Kedar Kharak campsite, Kedartal Lake is one of the most appealing lakes surrounded by mountains far away from the touch of those cities amidst nature.
One can see the reflection of the Thalay Sagar mountains and Jogin peaks in the clear water of beautiful Kedartal Lake. It looks like a view straight out of those storybooks. Overnight in tents near Kedartal Lake.
Day 05: Kedar Kharak to Gangotri.
After having breakfast, it will be time to take an excursion back to Bhoj Kharak. Capture the stunning view of the sunrise turning the top of the mountains to golden along with their reflection in the lake is stupendous. Trek back from Kedar Kharak to Bhoj Kharak take us around 3 hrs. Day 06: Gangotri to Haridwar.
After breakfast drive back to Haridwar railway station. Arrival at Haridwar by 4 pm.
